For the curious it seems like that’s Utah Oil Refining Company, which was bought by Standard Oil of Indiana (Amoco) and was used with the oval logo in some places where they didn’t have the rights to use the “Standard” name. These became Amocos when they rebranded.

Yes, it looks like a wooden bolted-on afterthought. Probably doesn’t have an engine. The BT-13 came standard with a Hamilton Standard variable pitch prop.

Thanks. That did confuse me a bit. I expected to see “Standard” with that logo because that’s what it was when I was a kid.

It’s not the size of the prop, it’s the thrust- to- weight ratio.
